Sandrena is a transdermal oestrogen-only gel used as part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It contains estradiol, a body-identical form of oestrogen, to replace the hormone your body gradually stops producing during perimenopause and menopause.

If you still have your womb, Sandrena will be prescribed alongside progesterone to protect the lining of your womb. This may be in the form of a tablet or a Mirena coil.
