Low libido? Lacking energy? If you're taking HRT but these symptoms are persisting, our doctors can prescribe testosterone. You’ll start with an appointment, then build your treatment plan with your clinician.
Testosterone is made in the ovaries and adrenal glands. The amount your body produces will naturally reduce with age. Many women feel the impact of this, even when they’re already on HRT for oestrogen. That’s where testosterone treatment can help.
There is strong evidence for testosterone replacement helping women with low sex drive. Other benefits have been reported by patients, but further research is needed to confirm that testosterone helps with mood, cognition and energy.
Your treatment should always be the right fit for you. If our clinicians
recommend testosterone for you, you can choose between two plans.
Before starting your plan, check your testosterone levels
Before starting this plan, you will need a blood test so that we can safely prescribe you testosterone. This can be done in-clinic or at home with a Tasso device. Our Tasso test kits are simple and easy to use. Each kit comes with full instructions and a guide to help you use the device.
This baseline blood test costs £60. Please note this cost is separate to the cost of your plan. Once we have your results and have confirmed that testosterone is the right treatment for you, you can start your plan.
Choosing your plan and medication
After your test results are confirmed and you have chosen to begin, it is then time to choose the type of testosterone medication you would like. Choose between 2 testosterone medications:
Starting your plan
Once we know which type of medication you would prefer, one of our clinicians will prescribe it and it will arrive 48-hours later. You also get a range of different options to help support you whilst you are on your plan
Ongoing monitoring and review
To ensure you are on track and making progress with your treatment, you can do a monitoring blood test at home or have one in-clinic. This step is optional but included in your monthly plan cost.
You’ll then have a 30-minute review at the end of month of your plan to discuss your test results, adjust your plan if needed and talk through how you’re feeling.
You can then choose whether to restart your care. Your plan does not auto-renew when your 3-month cycle is over, the choice to continue is entirely yours.
